French Toast - Oven-baked
Ingredients
- 4 Eggs
- 200 ml Milk
- dash Vanilla extract
- medium Baguette cut diagonally into 2cm thick slices
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 200C (fan).
- 1. Mix together the eggs, milk and vanilla extract.
- 2. Put the slices of bread in the egg mixture and leave the liquid to absorb for a few minutes on both sides.
- 3. Very generously grease a non-stick baking tray with butter. Cook the bread in the oven for 15 minutes, turning the slices over after about 10 minutes.
- 4. Leave the slices to cool down a bit. They are likely to have puffed up a little in the oven, but will deflate when they cool.
- 5. Serve the toasts warm - with your choice of jams, marmalade, syrup or honey.
